About Me

Aside from my engineering studies, I also enjoy music and traveling in my free time. These activities always give me a sense of freedom and creativity. I have been singing since I was a little kid, and it has served to me as an outlet for expression. I have appreciation for various types of styles, so I am still finding my own in terms of singing. This has led to my love for all forms of music. I listen to a little bit of every genres as reflected in my personal playlist, but if I have to pick favorites, they would be R&B and ballads. Being someone that has lived in two different countries, I have realized the importance and benefit of exploring outside of one's customs and culture. I found the significance of our similarities and differences and how our understanding of these can lead to a better, more compassionate world. Traveling to foreign places always remind me of this and how there is always still a lot to learn and discover.

This was taken around summer 2019 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where in addition to the beauty of the island, I have also witnessed the interesting similarities in the cultural values with those in my home country (the Philippines). Despite the geographical distance, the historical relations of Spanish colonization and American acquisition have resulted to very similar traditions, food, entertainment, etc. This experience has enabled me to recognize the similarities and differences, which gave me an insight on the origins and uniqueness of the people's values and mindset in both countries.

Something I strongly advocate for is environmental protection and sustainability efforts. In all of the work I do, I always have environmental effects in primary consideration. I believe that this must come first and foremost in order for us to accomplish our biggest goals as society as everyone is subjected to the condition of the Earth's ecology. I think it is also a moral and ethical responsibility for everyone as it is the place that literally nurtures us and gives us homes. The recent advancements in aerospace travel projecting a good possibility of being interplanetary in the future should not give us an excuse for being more negligible of Earth but actually give us more reason to protect it more as Earth would serve as the template for constructing the new worlds. If us humans never learn how to protect and sustain our own current environment, we would not know how to do the same in other environments and an exhausting cycle would just arise.
